keeping you safe at beautylicious®

I have created this safety manifesto as my commitment to keeping you as safe as possible when the salon re-opens.

While I have been closed, I have completed a Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course that is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for my industry. It recommends useful information on the measures we, as an industry should be following.

As many of you know, I have extremely high hygiene standards; so much of this is what I already practice in the salon. Please bear in mind that when guidelines from the government come into place, this may be subject to change.

My commitment to you:

Signs of illness

If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I of course will self-isolate immediately and not work. This may mean that I may have to reschedule your appointment at short notice. Please understand this is for your own safety.

Booking online

I have created some short questions on the online booking form asking you if you are feeling well at time of booking. Confirmation calls I will call you before your booking to confirm you’re still feeling well enough for the treatment. If you become unwell, I will of course reschedule your appointment without any extra cost to you.

Consultation forms

I am working towards a paperless consultation form system where I can, which will be emailed to you before your appointment. As we are entering a ‘new normal’ I will be asking you to complete, even if you have completed a form previously. This is to ensure my records are up to date and you are reminded of any medical conditions that may affect your treatment.

Attending your appointment

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. This is to avoid contact with others. If I am not quite ready, I may ask you to wait outside so please remember coats or umbrellas; this is not me being rude, but will allow a safe transition between my clients. I will leave 15 minutes between appointments to allow for safe transition and cleaning down key areas.

Ambiance

One of the main aspects of my salon is its calming ambiance and cosy atmosphere in a fresh and modern way. For the foreseeable future I will not include cosy blankets, throws and pillows during your treatment, but I am working on making the salon just as inviting – watch this space to see what I have done…

Hygiene

As you may know; I have always used personal protective equipment (PPE) including face masks, aprons and gloves for most of my treatments, as I always felt that this was good practice.

I will of course increase the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that seats and door handles etc. are wiped thoroughly using professional grade disinfectant products between each client. As usual I will disinfect and/or sterilise equipment in line with manufacturers’ instructions. I have also bought extra equipment, so that there will be sufficient time between client for cleaning etc. during busy times.

I have always committed to utilise environmentally friendly, disposable during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon and we will also have hand sanitiser whenever possible.

I will understand if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your treatment if this is possible. I will accommodate you as much as possible, but I am not able to supply this for you.

I will continue to wash clothes and towels at 60 Degrees and will use more disposable items where I can. All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

What I am asking of you:

Booking your appointment

Please answer the booking questions truthfully, if you have any signs of feeling unwell please avoid the salon. We can always reschedule your appointment – its better to do that, than put others in danger.

Consultation forms

Please complete your online consultation forms where appropriate before your treatment, as this will save valuable treatment time. I may ask you to complete the form using my tablet before your treatment starts.

Before your treatment

I will ask you to wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment. I will also do this before your treatment. I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to answer any concerns.

Bottled water will be available for treatments over 60 minutes if requested.

Payment

I will continue to be flexible with how you would like to pay, so I will leave that to you, of course the recommendation is card payment (machine will be sanitised after each transaction), but I understand if cash is easier for you then I’ll take it!

So, I think I have covered all key areas, please note that this may be subject to change; but I wanted to give you as much reassurance as possible that I am doing what I can to keep you safe when you come to see me.

Lots of love and keep safe Sharron X
